Choose Your Ride” is a Burnaby RCMP Youth Section coordinated initiative to promote safe decision making around students’ graduation celebrations. It is an interactive presentation for High School Students held outside the schools during the lunch break bringing together Police, Ambulance, Transit, and Burnaby Fire Department. This is an educational approach to making safe choices during this year’s graduation through a visual interactive presentation. By including partners like Burnaby Fire Department, Ambulance Services, etc. most aspects of the importance of making smart choices in relation to “choosing their ride” was covered. Police would present the “legal” aspect of drinking and driving and the new cannabis legislation. Ambulance services and Burnaby Fire Department would present the “medical” aspect of overdose, mixing drugs and/or drugs and alcohol.
