On behalf of the Burnaby School District’s Career Education team, we are excited to invite you to the return of the in-person Industry Training Programs Information Evening! Students and their parents from Grades 9 – 12, including those who will Graduate in June 2022 will gain career awareness of post-secondary training in a wide variety of industry sectors. These programs are tuition-free.

This event is a showcase of all of our districts specialized training programs, including our Youth Train in Trades and Apprenticeship programs. If you aren’t familiar with these programs, they allow students who are still in High School to complete the first level of their trades training and/or begin their Apprenticeship or participate in specialized post-secondary level industry level training in the fields Media Arts, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Tourism, Fitness, Baking.

This is a great chance for students and parents who may be interested in a program, or an industry sector, to meet the teachers, along with representatives from our post-secondary partners and industry to ask any questions you may have. Current, or former students of the programs are also present to share their experiences.

The event is similar to a trade show format and families will have an opportunity to move throughout the venue and explore the variety of options. Information on scholarship and award opportunities associated with these programs will also be available at the event.
