Diversity Dance 2024
On Wednesday, March 6th the Burnaby School District will be hosting our annual District Diversity Dance. This dance is open to all high school students in the Burnaby school district, in the spirit of celebrating the diversity and inclusivity of our students. The dance will be held from 6pm-9pm at Byrne Creek Community School. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the main office. Tickets are limited, so make sure you buy yours soon!
- This year’s theme is “Enchanted Forest” so feel free to dress up if you wish.
- We would also like you to know that a quiet space will be available for students in the library who may need a rest from the music and lights throughout the evening.
- One last important detail: when you arrive at the dance and have passed the initial security with admin, you will be required to leave your coats, purses, bags and phones at coat check. There will be a teacher supervising this process. If throughout the dance you need your phone to communicate with your parents, you will be able to retrieve it to make a call from the coat check room.
*The purpose of collecting phones is to maintain students’ privacy throughout an event where you can be free and connect with each other, without concern of photos being taken without consent. We want to ensure that going forward, this event remains a safe and inclusive one.
