Ms. Osachoff sits with a small group of students while the others around her study and talk to each other. Ms. Osachoff plays cards with a group of grade 8 – 11 students. Through this non threatening game of cards, Ms. Osachoff opens up to the students and uses this relaxing, informal nature of the game to check in and ask questions about the students’ lives.
Ms. Osachoff discusses goal setting with the group as she deals the cards out. They sit, attentively listening to her, and discuss and play together.
